Weller St cycling upgrades to be continued through to King William Rd via Simpson Pde.
Unley City Council has secured funding to complete much anticipated cycling upgrades in the west of the City. The $75,000 grant awarded from the State Bicycle Funding is to be matched by Council in the 2021/22 budget.
Weller St and Simpson Pde will be upgraded with three single-lane slow points with cycling bypasses, plus public realm improvements for cycling and walking at the crossing from Simpson Pde across King William Rd to Charles Walk. This project will fill the gap between this two important north-south and east-west links across Unley respectively.
Leader St is to receive buffered cycle lane treatment between Goodwood Rd and the railway line.
These are exciting improvements to cycling for Unley which bring us closer to a more comprehensive and contiguous cycling network.
