"I had always wanted to ride, but was timid on my own on the busy roads."

Sue

When I read in an Unley magazine that a new cycling group for over 65’s was being trialled, my heart started beating fast. I had always wanted to ride, but was timid on my own on the busy roads.

David arranged for rusty old bikes to become road-worthy, and later organised some bike education for us. Monica (of pink bike fame) became our leader and has guided us through many Adelaide suburbs in search of good coffee, followed by a leisurely ride home.

Nearly two years later, with new helmet and goggles, flashing lights and rear-vision mirror, new bike seat and padded pants, I am still loving the Tuesday ride and am making new friends.

We began with a group of 4 people and now have 12-16 each week, weather permitting.

And this is why I like Tuesdays.
